An ECG finding that represents the beginning of ventricular depolarization. Normal Q waves are narrow (< 0.04 s). Pathologic Q waves are abnormally wide (≥ 0.04 s) and/or abnormally deep (≥ 0.2 mV or > 25% of the R wave amplitude) and can develop due to myocardial injury.
