The rate-limiting enzyme in the pathway of glycolysis. Converts fructose-6-phosphate to fructose-1,6-biphosphate. Stimulated by insulin, AMP, and fructose 2,6-biphosphate. Inhibited by glucagon, ATP, and citrate.
