Hyperestrogenism

A condition of increased circulating estrogen due to increased estrogen production (e.g., due to ovarian tumors), excess estrogen supplementation (e.g., due to hormone replacement therapy), or decreased metabolism and excretion of estrogens (e.g., due to chronic liver disease). Symptoms in women include menstrual irregularities, enlargement of the breasts, and infertility; symptoms in men include gynecomastia, testicular atrophy, and female distribution of pubic hair (feminization). Palmar erythema and spider telangiectasis occur in both sexes.
