Abbreviation: DCT
The segment of the nephron located between the ascending loop of Henle and the connecting tubule and collecting duct. 10-15% of Na+ is resorbed in the DCT; Na+ resorption is regulated by aldosterone. ADH regulates the tubule's water permeability. The DCT is the site of PTH-regulated Ca2+ resorption.
