Abbreviation: Anti-HBs
A group of antibodies against the surface antigen of the hepatitis B virus (HbsAg). Increased anti-HBs antibodies in an individual with hepatitis B infection indicates elimination of the virus and recovery from infection. The presence of anti-HBs antibodies in a healthy individual indicates immunity against the hepatitis B virus either as a result of a past infection or as a result of vaccination.
