A Gi G-protein coupled receptor present in the presynaptic sympathetic neurons of the central nervous system, pancreas, platelets, and vascular smooth muscle. Activation causes feedback inhibition of sympathetic neurons, decreased insulin secretion, increased platelet activation, and decreased vascular resistance.
